v0.1.5-alpha.1: A Skipped Number, an Experimental Sidebar, and Session Format V3

One day after v0.1.3-alpha.2: The Cadence Cools, the Defaults Keep Moving, upstream opened another new series: v0.1.5-alpha.1, published 2026-09-08. The number is worth noticing before anything else — it skips 0.1.4 entirely. The repository’s tag list goes straight from dsh-v0.1.3-alpha.2 to dsh-v0.1.5-alpha.1 with no v0.1.4 in between, and the notes do not mention the numbering. The release itself pairs two new interface features with a Chores section that plugin authors and custom tooling need to read.

New surface: a Sidebar and dynamic system prompts

The experimental right Sidebar supports tabs, split panes and fullscreen; chat file links and produced files can open in it, and the Detail panel is removed. Alongside it, system prompts can now be updated dynamically without invalidating the KV Cache — available when the configured model explicitly declares support.

Session format V3, and plugin API changes

The Chores section carries three items that ask something of the ecosystem:

• Session format V3. Restoring a supported historical session generates a new-version log while preserving the original file; system prompts are recorded in message history, and legacy PTC events and code preset references migrate automatically. Custom log readers must adapt to V3, and upgraded sessions do not support downgrade reads.
• Agent plugin API. ctx.agent is removed and callers pass the Agent explicitly. Ownership of continuable subagents is corrected so that root-only scheduling excludes them.
• Inbox API. Inbox becomes a type-only interface instead of an exported runtime class; plugins read and write pending messages through agent.inbox, and hasPending and claim are no longer public API.

Fixes and quiet improvements

The Send button now follows the same busy-session setting as Enter, with labels identifying queue or steer delivery. A fix stops the model from resuming a goal the user paused — resuming requires a user action, and goals not yet active show a resume control. Local images referenced by absolute POSIX paths render in chat, including screenshots outside registered workspaces, with alt text or the original path shown when a load fails. Messages with neither non-whitespace text nor an attachment are rejected, as are blank queue edits — image-only and file-only messages still work.

Elsewhere: permission and I/O errors during project-root discovery are reported instead of silently loading an ancestor project’s instructions; collapsed thinking summaries no longer show literal Markdown bold markers while the expanded content stays complete; the Web composer gets menu-layering, placeholder and spacing polish, with session statistics presented as two expandable summaries (turn counts and speed; token usage and cache hits); built-in slash command descriptions are localized into Chinese and follow the interface language; the optional subagent plugins move to Codex 0.153.4 and Claude Code 2.1.263 runtimes (explicit model settings unchanged; Codex uses its upstream default when none is configured); and the fs-ext dependency no longer requires local compilation on macOS and Linux.
